📋 Description

• Use state item specifications to write effective items for multiple projects, including ELP assessments • Work under the direction of an overall project content lead to oversee item pool development for a state or consortium of states • Lead group reviews and independently conduct preliminary and content review 1 across all projects • Conduct senior reviews for all ELP assessment projects • Lead educator content review, rubric validation, range finding, and data review meetings across projects, focusing on ELP assessment projects • Participate in standard-setting meetings as a content expert • Lead item development for project content areas • Write blueprints and translate them into an item pool development plan, with supervision • Conduct increasingly independent client interactions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language, bilingual education, or applied linguistics plus 5–8 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree plus 1–4 years’ experience • Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching ELs/MLLs and/or developing content in an Educational Assessment environment • Strong knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education system and Educational Assessment, including state and federal requirements related to screening and annual assessment of ELs/MLLs in K–12 education is preferred • Current knowledge of trends, practices, and research related to language acquisition, including designing assessments to the four domains, is highly preferred • Analytical skills and attention to detail • Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Ability to multi-task • Skilled at collaboration • Ability to travel 1 week to 8 trips per year, with trips lasting 2–5 days • Must reside and work in the United States
