• Assist faculty with the financial and compliance management of externally funded awards • Serve as liaison and active partner between faculty and university offices for award management • Provide relevant and complete information to principal investigators, department/program staff, and central support departments • Facilitate award financial management and award close-out • Support researchers in the assigned cluster across Main Campus and the Medical Center • Review and reconcile expenses for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, necessity, documentation, and budget compliance • Review salary distributions and associated fringe benefits for accuracy • Review key personnel commitments and notify ORS of significant variances • Review indirect cost recovery calculations • Process corrections and adjustments within required deadlines with appropriate approvals and documentation • Complete Financial Status Report worksheets timely and accurately • Review and process payments to subrecipients • Collaborate with cluster staff, JORA Post-Award Grant Administrators, and other offices to ensure award accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Bachelor’s degree • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in university or nonprofit grants management • Knowledge of sponsored research funding mechanisms, including federal, non-federal government, international, industry, foundation, private, and nonprofit funding • Expertise with federal funding guidelines, including 2 CFR 200 and FAR • Proficiency with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards for grants and contracts management • Budgeting experience in Excel • Demonstrated financial accounting skills for account reconciliation and financial and programmatic report support • High proficiency in Excel • Proficiency with Excel, Adobe Professional, and DocuSign • Flexibility and adaptability to policy changes • Ability to establish priorities and multitask in a high-volume setting • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills • Ability to function in a fast-paced academic setting • Ability to foster a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment with competing priorities
