📋 Description

• Partner with and advise business teams on commercial contracts and legal issues • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including data agreements, customer agreements, strategic agreements, online terms and conditions, subscription agreements, and non-disclosure agreements • Review, analyze, and revise contract templates for compliance with current laws, regulations, and industry best practices • Monitor and analyze privacy laws and regulations, including data protection policies and practices • Complete special projects as needed • Report to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent from an accredited institution • Licensed to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario • At least 7 years law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house hands-on experience drafting and negotiating contracts • Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and data privacy law as it relates to the data and technology industries • Experience effectively handling a high volume of contracts • Familiarity with AI/ML issues a plus • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills • Aptitude to quickly learn and develop new skills • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills and judgment • Ability to juggle multiple clients and projects simultaneously with competing demands • Strong work ethic with excellent follow up skills and a proactive mindset • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
