• Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support to Class Members virtually, by phone, and in person • Guide Class Members through claim forms, resources, and the claims process • Collaborate with Claims Helpers to coordinate effective support and address service gaps • Build and maintain relationships with communities, organizations, and local partners • Assist Class Members with claim completion, status updates, appeals, and connections to mental health, legal, and cultural support • Participate in ongoing training and learning to strengthen skills and deliver effective support throughout the Settlement claims process • Support multiple Castlemain projects, primarily the Federal Indian Hospitals Settlement • Contribute to a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace by complying with health and safety policies, communicating openly, and supporting risk and injury prevention
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French • Three years or more of experience working with Indigenous Peoples and communities, developed through community, professional roles, or lived experience • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and the impacts of trauma • In-depth understanding of colonial policies, discriminatory laws, and the impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples • Understanding of Indigenous community governance structures • Ability to travel across Canada, up to 30% of the role, with individual trips of up to 7–10 days • Intermediate understanding of technology and online platforms, or strong aptitude for learning new tools quickly • Ability to access a local airport and possible nearby work locations • Access to a quiet workspace and internet • Successful completion of both a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a condition of employment
