📋 Description

• Architect and maintain a reliable, seamless, high-impact analytics layer across product and operational units • Guide key initiatives from inception through completion using robust software design principles • Transform raw transactional records into star schemas covering orders, distributors, suppliers, catalog offerings, and financial workflows • Identify and fix sluggish queries, unoptimized transformations, and testing blind spots • Oversee automated Fivetran syncs and adapt to schema modifications • Establish and safeguard standardized logic within dbt data marts • Build Snowflake and Metabase layers for self-serve analytics access • Conduct complex exploratory data deep dives • Mentor engineers and analysts through reviews and ongoing support • Partner with product leads and engineering managers to translate strategy into technical milestones • Use AI coding assistants including Cursor, CodeRabbit, and Claude with human verification • Contribute to distributor benchmarks and AI-powered query access for company-wide decision-making

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related role • Experience ideally within a SaaS or product-driven environment • Strong production experience with SQL, dbt, and a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or comparable • Proficiency in Python for analytics tooling and automation • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling and relational databases • Experience with managed ingestion using Fivetran • Experience designing BI environments in Metabase for self-serve use • Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers or analysts • Strong technical judgment and pragmatic business tradeoff skills • Customer empathy and dedication to continuous growth and feedback • Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively • Experience using Snowflake AI tooling or similar • Eligible to work in Canada, excluding Quebec
