• Engage in land management processes across British Columbia and provide technical input supporting conservation outcomes • Review First Nations and provincial land use plans to identify opportunities for Indigenous-led stewardship and IPCAs • Draft briefing notes, submissions, and responses for government and partner-led processes • Apply a landscape-level lens to planning recommendations, habitat connectivity, and ecosystem integrity • Support accurate counting of protected and conserved areas toward BC’s 30x30 target • Build and maintain relationships with First Nations partners • Participate in coalition meetings and coordinate with colleagues and partner organizations • Identify opportunities for public engagement on conservation issues • Create campaign content and promotional materials for social media, website, and email • Oversee media monitoring of conservation issues • Plan and deliver in-person and digital campaign activities • Enable special projects and research opportunities • Identify funding opportunities and support funding proposals and reporting • Monitor expenditures and maintain alignment with budgets
• Experience engaging in land management processes in British Columbia, including provincial and First Nations land use planning, forest landscape planning, and land and resource management planning • Knowledge of land and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity • Current understanding of key conservation opportunities and challenges in British Columbia • Demonstrated experience building relationships with Indigenous Nations, representatives, or governments • GIS, mapping, and spatial planning skills • Organizational and time management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to shape messaging, influence audiences, and engage with media • Mentoring or coaching skills • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment • 5+ years of experience in advocacy, campaigning, conservation, resource management and planning, or related areas • Post-secondary education in a relevant field may be useful, but no minimum education is required • Experience with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice practices is an asset
