• Lead organizational practices for employee support and wellbeing, including compensation, benefits management, engagement initiatives, and staff requests • Operationalize day-to-day tasks and co-design new practices based on market assessments, industry standards, and changing Canadian and Indigenous non-profit landscapes • Act as backup for other People & Culture activities during departmental initiatives, time off, and peak periods • Update and maintain payroll, GRRSP, benefits package, and telehealth records and systems • Conduct compensation and benefits research and provide structured recommendations • Produce annual compensation and benefits reports for executive and board-level decision-making • Develop employee engagement methods and support Culture & Recognition programs • Review policies and practices and recommend improvements • Design, administer, and analyze internal surveys and data collection • Serve as the primary contact for People & Culture inquiries and support employees confidentially and empathetically • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding employee requests requiring additional support • Support People & Culture projects, strategic initiatives, procedures, and best-practice integration • Identify gaps in tools, SOPs, and workflows and co-lead iterative improvements • Maintain internal knowledge bases, records, files, and documentation • Apply cultural safety and trauma-informed practices to policies and organizational practices • Foster staff wellbeing, trust, belonging, and relationships with community organizations • Mentor managers and team leads in relational accountability and adaptive change practices • Facilitate team learning cycles involving reflection, feedback, and course correction • Participate in staff meetings, working groups, committees, and community engagement initiatives • Support occupational health and safety measures and report hazards, incidents, and injuries • Undertake other duties as assigned
• 3 or more years of experience in compensation and benefits management • 3 or more years of experience designing and leading engagement initiatives • Experience in values-based, Indigenous-led, or trauma-informed organizations • Strong administrative experience managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously • Proven written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and create shared ownership for outcomes • Ability to conduct deep research on industry standards, cultural engagement, legal obligations, and role-specific practices • Awareness of provincial legislation related to ESA, OHSA, AODA, and other compliance regulations • Previous anti-racism or cultural inclusion experience is an asset • Previous research, data analysis, or program design experience is an asset • Certification or post-secondary education in a related field is an asset • Payroll, research, or strategic HR certification is an asset • Experience working with Indigenous youth communities is an asset
