• Serve as the first point of contact for employees with Disability and Life and Living coverage • Explain claims application processes to employees and employers • Review and process claims-related paperwork • Review new employer referrals and set up Early Intervention, pre-claim, Disability, and Life and Living files • Refer files to appropriate teams and Case Managers • Receive, review, verify, assemble, and submit claims to external insurance carriers • Maintain claim records and communicate updates to stakeholders through closure • Follow up on incomplete or outstanding paperwork and resolve errors or omissions • Review policy information and confirm insurance coverage • Identify, propose, and monitor return-to-work plans • Notify billing administration of applicable updates to WEBS • Respond to inquiries, emails, and voicemails within one business day • Enter complete and accurate file information into the proprietary database • Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls • Submit IT tickets with leadership sign-off • Identify inefficiencies and provide input to improve outcomes and efficiency • Perform other duties as required
• 2 years of previous administrative and/or customer service experience • Previous benefits experience is an asset • Competence in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word • Ability to work within core business hours • Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with privacy and confidentiality policies • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage caseloads, and complete administrative duties accurately and on time • Ability to communicate clearly, positively, and respectfully • Ability to manage difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy
