📋 Description

• Lead month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Review balance sheet and income statement activity, investigate variances, and provide financial analysis • Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting • Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger activity and financial records • Serve as a finance partner to internal departments, answering questions and providing financial support • Coordinate external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests • Support federal and state tax compliance processes and review supporting documentation • Maintain and improve accounting processes, reports, and ERP system templates • Assist with inventory, insurance, and other financial reporting requirements • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 5+ years of accounting experience • Candidates with a CPA and fewer years of experience will be considered • Retail industry experience preferred • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups • Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities • Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability to mentor and support junior staff • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment • Self-starter with a process improvement mindset and an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
