📋 Description

• Serve as the first line of engineering response for production and support issues during business hours • Prioritize issues by patient impact • Diagnose and fix bugs across the Django codebase and associated services • Make safe live production data edits for billing, coverage, eligibility, and invoice issues • Own and improve the admin portal and internal tooling • Build documentation, runbooks, and diagnostic tools for Support self-service • Partner with Support, Clinical Operations, Implementations, and Engineering on permanent fixes • Track recurring issues involving eligibility, coverage, billing, and clinical integrations • Monitor operational health metrics • Lead the Kafka-based AWS MSK Event Bus initiative using CloudEvents and Python • Integrate the Event Bus library, define event contracts, and drive adoption • Use AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude for analysis, data corrections, and code review

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, operating at a senior level with a record of owning production systems end to end • Deep, hands-on Python and Django expertise • Experience with Django REST Framework APIs, Celery async task processing, complex ORM queries, and multiple databases • Proven debugging and production troubleshooting skills • Experience with relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL), including writing and optimizing queries and understanding multi-database routing • Experience operating production SaaS, ideally multi-tenant • Clear written communication skills for documentation, runbooks, and cross-functional collaboration • Comfort operating as a self-directed, solo owner • Proficiency in using AI development tools • Bonus: healthcare or regulated-domain experience, PHI/HIPAA, Apache Kafka, AWS MSK, event-driven architectures, healthcare billing/RCM, HL7/FHIR, HIE platforms, ElasticSearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, Celery, e-prescribing, lab integrations, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, and production support/reliability experience
