📋 Description

• Design, implement, test, and ship backend features and improvements with minimal guidance • Build and maintain secure, observable, performant backend code and services • Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations, and bounded service functionality • Work with data models, migrations, indexes, and query behavior • Add and improve unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end automated test coverage • Review code for correctness, maintainability, security, performance, and operational risk • Investigate build, test, deployment, and runtime failures • Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements • Participate in on-call or operational support when required • Use and validate AI tools in daily engineering work • Partner with Product Management, Frontend, Infrastructure, Security, and designers • Own features from problem clarification through production follow-up

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications • Strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals • Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or another modern backend language • Ability to learn and adapt across programming languages • Ability to take features from clarification through delivery and follow-up independently • Sound judgment regarding security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational risk • Understanding of modular backend boundaries and coupling consequences • Strong written communication and effective collaboration in a remote, asynchronous environment • Practical experience with AI coding tools, including reviewing and correcting generated code • Helpful experience with production Go services, APIs, concurrency, profiling, gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, cloud deployment, Rust, PostgreSQL, schema evolution, caching, queues, messaging, event-driven workflows, observability, and modular or independently operated services
