📋 Description

• Take backend features and improvements from problem clarification through shipping and production follow-up • Partner with Product Management, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Security within a product area • Design, implement, test, and ship backend features using Ruby/Rails, Go, or other modern languages • Write maintainable, secure, observable, and performant production code • Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, integrations, and bounded service functionality • Work with data models, migrations, indexes, and query behavior • Add and improve automated unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end test coverage • Review code for correctness, maintainability, security, performance, and operational risk • Investigate build, test, deployment, and runtime failures • Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements • Participate in on-call or operational support as required by the team’s ownership model • Use AI productively in daily engineering work and validate its output

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience building and shipping production backend applications • Strong programming, API, database, testing, debugging, and performance fundamentals • Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, or another modern backend language • Ability to take a feature from clarification through delivery and follow-up independently • Sound judgment regarding security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational risk • Understanding of modular backend boundaries and coupling consequences • Strong written communication and effective collaboration in a remote, asynchronous environment • Practical experience with AI coding tools, including reviewing and correcting generated code • Helpful experience with production Go services, APIs, concurrency, profiling, or gRPC • Helpful experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, or cloud deployment • Helpful experience with Rust • Helpful experience with PostgreSQL, schema evolution, caching, queues, messaging, or event-driven workflows • Helpful experience with observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts • Helpful experience contributing to a modular monolith, bounded context, shared component, or independently operated service
