📋 Description

• Own end-to-end technical direction for Session Replay across frontend, backend, and data systems • Drive backend architecture evolution for columnar/analytical data storage • Design systems for large-scale session data • Define data models, ingestion pipelines, and query patterns • Lead investigation workflows connecting replay with logs, metrics, traces, and other telemetry • Make architectural decisions affecting multiple teams and products • Partner with Frontend Observability, Synthetic Monitoring, and Core Grafana teams • Engage directly with customers through calls, structured feedback, and Session Replay adoption support • Improve engineering standards, patterns, and operational practices • Mentor engineers and grow technical leadership within the team

🎯 Requirements

• Comfortable working in a remote-first company • Able to communicate design decisions clearly in written and spoken English • Ability to reason about data-intensive systems, including ingestion, storage, querying, and cost trade-offs • Comfortable owning features in ambiguous problem spaces and working independently • Understanding of a user-centered software development process • Ability to work on complex solutions with maintainable, readable, automated code • Uses AI tools as part of the engineering workflow • Experience with Go, TypeScript, React, columnar/analytical data storage, object storage, MySQL, and Grafana ecosystem tools • Bonus: Experience with columnar/analytical databases • Bonus: Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or Sentry • Bonus: Experience building debugging or developer-focused tools • Bonus: Familiarity with privacy, security, and access control in data-heavy systems • Bonus: Experience with performance-sensitive systems and large datasets • No explicit educational credential or minimum years of experience stated
