• Design, maintain, implement, analyze, develop, and test in-house software applications on an IBM i platform • Collaborate with users, Business Analysts, and IT teammates to develop technical specifications and assess impacts on applications, systems, and databases • Create and use binding directories, binder source, prototypes, prototype interfaces, sub-procedures, stored procedures, and service programs • Update programs and resolve problems using data-centric architecture, design, programming, and performance knowledge • Manage projects using project-management and change-management software tools • Troubleshoot and resolve application system errors with the Support Desk, Training, and business partners • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and provide management recommendations • Provide time tracking and project feedback to the Project Management Office and management • Lead, plan, and implement IT process-improvement projects • Serve as a subject matter expert for less experienced teammates and business partners • Respond to escalated inquiries and complex problems • Support new-hire training, cross-training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing • Create training materials, job aids, and rollout/update documentation • Review junior teammates’ output and provide assessments and recommendations to management • Create department templates and models for processes, modules, and coding techniques • Provide analysis and work on special management initiatives and projects • Perform other duties as assigned
• High school degree preferred • Minimum of five years of hands-on RPG programming and development experience across multiple high-complexity projects • Experience preferably in financial services or mortgage servicing industries • Expert knowledge of all aspects and versions of RPG and CL on IBM i • Expert knowledge of binding directories, binder source, prototypes, sub-procedures, activation groups, and service programs • Knowledge of DB2 native commands, security and access, SQL, SEQUEL, DDM, data-centric architecture, design, and performance tuning • Experience with embedded SQL, stored procedures, web services, and APIs • General knowledge of FTP, SFTP, and XML • General knowledge of Websmart, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, and Bootstrap • Highly detail-oriented and organized • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment • Ability to think critically and evaluate facts and data, downstream impacts, and associated risks • Ethical team player committed to company values • Strong independent judgment and discretion • Ability to resolve high-complexity issues • Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse • Ability to accurately interpret audio and visual information
