📋 Description

• Manage multiple Cayenta ERP and/or Customer Information System environments simultaneously. • Perform SQL Server database administration and support environments that may also include Oracle. • Perform system administration for customer application and infrastructure environments. • Monitor customer environments and proactively address availability, reliability, security, or performance concerns. • Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution across teams. • Manage technical work through ticketing systems and maintain clear, accurate updates. • Perform releases, patching, updates, configuration changes, and maintenance. • Build understanding of customer environments, configurations, dependencies, and operational requirements. • Identify recurring problems and improve processes through automation, monitoring, or documentation. • Build long-term customer relationships and communicate technical information clearly. • Prepare and deliver customer reports on environment health, maintenance, risks, and activities. • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and scheduled evening or weekend maintenance activities when required. • Help administer highly available Azure infrastructure, virtual machines, databases, storage, networking, security, Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, and single sign-on. • Develop scripts and automation for deployment, monitoring, administration, and maintenance. • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution for Azure environments. • Manage user access, permissions, authentication, and password management. • Support Active Directory Group Policy and Microsoft Azure/Entra policies such as Conditional Access. • Participate in cloud implementation or migration projects. • Create and improve technical documentation, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and procedures. • Participate in knowledge transfer, training, team discussions, internal improvement projects, and cross-functional issue resolution. • Use AI tools responsibly for research, log analysis, scripting, documentation, troubleshooting, and automation.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in technical support, system administration, managed services, infrastructure, database administration, or a related technical role; equivalent education and experience will also be considered. • Experience with or strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. • Working knowledge of system administration concepts in Windows and/or Linux environments. • Some experience with or knowledge of Microsoft Azure. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Demonstrated ability to investigate technical problems independently and work through unfamiliar issues. • Curiosity and desire to understand why something is happening rather than simply applying a workaround. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when collaboration or escalation is appropriate. • Strong customer-service mindset and ability to develop trusted customer relationships. • Comfort balancing multiple customer environments, priorities, and deadlines. • Experience with Apache Tomcat, including configuration, hardening, and SSL certificates. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong time-management and organizational skills. • Experience using Jira, TeamSupport, or comparable ticketing/work-management systems. • Willingness to participate in weekend schedules or alternative workweeks when required, including Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedules. • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation when required. • Commitment to continuous learning, documentation, knowledge sharing, and improvement. • Comfort responsibly using AI-assisted tools as part of technical investigation, research, scripting, documentation, and everyday work. • Preferred/standout: Managed Services experience; Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle administration; Microsoft Azure administration or cloud infrastructure experience; certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft AZ-104, or AZ-305; virtualization technologies; highly available enterprise applications; PowerShell, shell scripting, Azure CLI, or similar tools; infrastructure or application monitoring tools; TCP/IP networking, firewalls, certificates, DNS; Azure implementations or migrations; Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID; enterprise software, ERP, CIS, utility technology, or utility industry experience.
