📋 Description

• Design, build, and deliver backend systems and APIs in Go • Architect and implement maintainable, backward-compatible APIs and backend services • Evaluate cost, scale, risk, technical issues, alternatives, and tradeoffs • Contribute React/TypeScript frontend and Go backend code to full-stack product features • Define technical patterns and operational guidelines • Plan, lead, and deliver complex multi-team projects with external dependencies • Mentor teammates and rotate technical lead responsibilities • Collaborate with design and product partners in a product triad from discovery through delivery • Contribute to technical and quarterly product roadmaps • Participate in on-call rotations and address production/user pain points • Communicate, share knowledge, delegate, and help engineers grow

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial expertise building APIs and backend services in Go or similar languages • Strong knowledge of API design, error handling, and developer experience • Professional experience delivering frontend features with React and TypeScript • Experience contributing to full-stack software through all stages of the development lifecycle • Experience planning and delivering complex projects spanning multiple teams or systems • Ability to navigate external dependencies and uncertainty, break down complex work, ship incrementally, and balance technical investment with business goals • Ownership of projects end-to-end from planning through deployment and ongoing maintenance • Ability to proactively tackle technical debt and debug issues through the entire stack • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews • Experience working cross-functionally and adapting to evolving customer or business needs • Clear, thoughtful, and regular written and face-to-face communication • Experience supporting software in production • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation • Nice to have: proficiency with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor • Must verify identity and eligibility to work • Honeycomb cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers
