📋 Description

• Own GitHub at Jane across multiple organizations, 900+ repositories, and 300+ developers • Set operational and security baselines for GitHub • Configure repo creation, branch protections, rulesets, required reviews, secret scanning, and least-privilege access • Build golden paths that make safe configurations the default • Automate configuration drift detection, compliance reporting, and guided enforcement through bots and dashboards • Partner with Platform Security on access controls, secret management, and alerting • Lead phased change management and migration support to achieve 100% repository compliance within twelve months • Extend the operating model to Jira, Datadog, JFrog, and other SDLC tools • Help define how the new Developer Operations team operates and grows • Collaborate with Security, Delivery Engineering, Backend Foundations, Developer Acceleration, and other groups

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on administration of developer tooling at organizational scale • Practical GitHub administration, including organization and enterprise settings, rulesets and branch protections, GitHub Apps and integrations, Actions, SSO/SCIM and access management, secret scanning and code security, and audit logs • Experience owning platforms other engineers depend on, including managed SaaS and self-hosted tools • Configuration as code using Terraform and the GitHub API • Scripting with Bash, Python, TypeScript, or similar • Comfort hosting and running tools in AWS, ideally including EKS • Security-first approach, including least privilege and sound secret management • Ability to define baselines, work autonomously, and influence teams without authority • Fluency with AI coding tools, especially Claude and Cursor • Candidates must currently live in Canada and have the legal right to work there without employer sponsorship • Jane cannot support relocation, visa sponsorship, or employment through a third party or employer of record
