📋 Description

• Manage a collaborative team working on electric transmission engineering projects • Serve as Supervisor and Engineering Lead for high-voltage overhead and underground transmission line design projects • Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards to 34.5 kV–765 kV capital and maintenance projects • Perform and oversee engineering analyses • Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement documents, and construction documents • Collaborate with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams • Develop an engineering team and manage direct reports • Manage client relations, proposal development, scope creation, and project management • Convey expectations, goals, and vision; manage direct-report performance • Motivate, coach, mentor, and delegate work to skilled professionals • Manage collaboration and conflict resolution • Identify risks and opportunities using project performance metrics • Apply AI, automation, and digital design platforms to streamline grid modernization and improve design efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering • 12+ years of relevant experience designing high-voltage electric utility transmission systems • Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent • Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD • Experience with Microsoft Office suite • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently • Ability to manage collaboration and conflict resolution • Five-plus years of supervising staff preferred • M.S. degree in Structural Engineering favorable • Outstanding communication skills to serve as primary client contact • Business acumen and understanding of project performance metrics • Ability and passion to develop staff through mentoring • Some periodic travel may be required • Working onsite in a Leidos or client office is a possibility
