• Facilitate the return to work of plan members through customized return-to-work strategies • Meet with plan members and healthcare professionals • Coordinate activities with care providers to ensure a smooth return to work • Manage and plan budgets • Implement return-to-work programs • Conduct mediation and negotiation sessions with interested parties • Develop, monitor, and implement innovative and goal-oriented vocational rehabilitation strategies for claimants receiving disability benefits • Contribute to Group Disability profitability by facilitating timely return to work • Work with Policyholders to develop creative return-to-work solutions • Communicate effectively with policyholders, members, and medical professionals, including complex or difficult messages • Manage vendors and ensure effective and efficient treatments are available to claimants • Manage a rehabilitation caseload covering Ottawa-Gatineau and surrounding areas; coverage of other regions may be required • Travel regionally as required
• Related University degree; preference will be given to candidates with Health Sciences related education with a focus in Psychology, Counseling or Nursing • 5 years of vocational rehabilitation experience, or several years active rehabilitation experience • Sound knowledge of Rehabilitation Industry Standards, Disability Insurance and medical terminology, and Disability and Rehabilitation management best practices • Fully bilingual (French/English) • Experience managing budgets in a professional setting • Valid driver's license and car required to travel to various locations • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite • Comfortable giving presentations to large groups virtually and in person • Demonstrated ability to think of creative solutions to rehabilitation problems • Interest in helping others make gainful return to employment • Professional recognition like the Accredited Rehabilitation Professional (ARP) and/or Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CCRC) is an asset • Prior military experience would be a strong asset
