📋 Description

• Operate and provide education within the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program • Coordinate CPE units and collaborate with chaplains to address spiritual care needs of patients, families, staff, and CPE students • Provide spiritual care and emotional support during illness, crisis, loss, and death • Promote team cohesion and effective relational dynamics within the chaplaincy team • Address CPE student performance issues and disciplinary action plans • Facilitate communication between clinical leadership and the chaplaincy team • Participate in strategic, departmental, and market planning, mission goals, KPI implementation, reports, and committee work • Develop professional development resources for chaplains and Spiritual Health Services • Provide structure for CPE unit seminars and individual sessions • Plan and implement CPE units according to ACPE standards and Catholic healthcare directives • Recruit, schedule, and supervise on-site and online CPE programs • Oversee student admissions, orientation, clinical work, scheduling, performance review, and clinical assignments • Establish and lead the Professional Advisory Group, including accreditation, curriculum, evaluation, financial solvency, and program operations • Oversee CPE program funds and prepare the annual budget • Coordinate clinical placements and maintain site-specific handbooks • Make site visits as required by ACPE standards • Mentor CPE students in collaboration with staff chaplains • Direct CPE program marketing, advertising, and student recruitment • Maintain accreditation standards and develop CPE within the organization • Provide requested Medicare reimbursement data to Finance • Maintain chaplain and ACPE Certified Educator certification through continuing education • Deliver Chaplain III functions as needed and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• ACPE Certified Educator or Certified Educator Candidate (required) • Documentation of faith community endorsement by official representative(s) reflecting good standing in accordance with the requirements of the candidate's faith or spiritual tradition (required) • Master's degree in Theology or Pastoral Studies (required) • Four years of progressive experience as a Chaplain (required) • Ability to maintain certification as a chaplain and ACPE Certified Educator • Knowledge of the Ethical and Religious Directives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • 1–2 years of experience as a people leader (preferred) • Completion of the Chaplain Leader Program (preferred) • Ability to provide pastoral support within patients' cultures, values, and belief systems • Knowledge and application of clinical pastoral care, pastoral counseling, crisis counseling, crisis intervention, healthcare ethics, interfaith dialogue, spiritual care assessments, theological reflection, medical ethics, Catholic social teaching, and advanced medical directives • Ability to lead and coordinate prayer and worship services • Ability to teach diverse theology and ecclesiology • Skills in leadership, content development, corrective action, operations management, scheduling, strategic planning, and performance assessment
