📋 Description

• Own and evolve core data models and metrics for product usage, customers, accounts, and key business metrics • Build and operate foundational data products using SQL, Python, and Spark in a modern lakehouse environment such as Databricks • Ensure data quality, availability, performance, and cost efficiency • Define and maintain shared metric definitions and semantic layers for consistent data interpretation • Partner with Product to define foundational product concepts • Collaborate with Data Platform on architecture and reliability • Work with Business Analytics, Data Science, ML, and in-product insights teams as key consumers • Set technical direction for modeling standards, architecture, orchestration, and tooling • Balance near-term delivery with long-term maintainability • Support internal analytics, embedded customer insight reports, and AI/ML model training

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years leading or formally managing data professionals • 6+ years building and owning shared, reusable core data models in modern data platforms • Familiarity with product usage and customer data common to SaaS environments • Advanced SQL • Strong Python • Experience with Spark • Comfort working in a modern lakehouse environment, e.g. Databricks • Experience designing for data quality, reliability, and availability • Experience with workflow orchestration using Airflow or Astronomer • Proven ability to build foundational models and metric definitions supporting multiple use cases rather than one-off data marts • Understanding of performance, cost, governance, security, and compliance considerations for shared data • Ability to partner with Product, Data Platform, Business Analytics, Engineering, and Data Science teams • Active exploration of AI tools to improve data model development and maintenance • Legally authorized to work in the country in which the candidate currently resides • Nice to have: experience supporting data used for AI/ML model training • Nice to have: background working on a data infrastructure or data platform team
