📋 Description

• Serve as the primary customer resource for permit status, timelines, and requirements • Provide training, coaching, feedback, and direction to junior team members • Manage team 1:1s and oversee junior team members’ work • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of permit applications • Research requirements, prepare forms, gather documentation, and submit applications to relevant authorities • Produce detailed permit progress reports and provide regular updates to customers and stakeholders • Identify process improvements and implement best practices to streamline workflows and reduce bottlenecks • Ensure permit applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with jurisdictional requirements • Proactively track permit statuses and engage authorities to expedite approvals

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in construction permitting, project management, or a similar role • Hands-on working knowledge of the permitting landscape across the Midwest • Priority familiarity with Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin permitting • General familiarity with permitting practices across other Midwest states • Established relationships with municipalities and inspectors in the relevant states • Comfortable acting as a regional escalation point for local jurisdictions • Demonstrated ability to identify and unblock restrictions on third-party permit expediters • Exceptional project management skills • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with AHJs • Leadership experience is preferred: 2+ years leading, managing, and mentoring teams • Must live and work in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, or South Dakota • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must not require employment visa sponsorship
