📋 Description

• Lead Software Engineering, QA / Quality Engineering, and Systems Administration / Infrastructure • Oversee design, development, enhancement, maintenance, quality, reliability, and technical operation of the cloud-based SaaS platform • Report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) • Translate company technology and product strategy into effective engineering execution • Partner with CTO, Product Management, Business Analysis, and business leaders to prioritize engineering initiatives and create executable plans • Develop and lead the AI-enabled engineering strategy, including evaluation, adoption, governance, and use of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle • Drive adoption of AI and automation across development, QA, technical operations, testing, release processes, monitoring, and operational workflows • Establish, monitor, and communicate engineering performance metrics • Modernize software quality practices, including test automation, AI-assisted test development, regression testing, CI/CD, and release quality controls • Lead engineering technology strategy and architectural direction, including technical debt, scalability, performance, maintainability, and modernization • Establish ownership, accountability, operating rhythms, delivery commitments, capacity planning, quality, risk identification, and issue escalation • Oversee cloud environments, deployment infrastructure, platform reliability, monitoring, backup and recovery, and operational resiliency • Partner with Product, Support, Advisory Services, Implementation, and other business functions to connect engineering improvements to customer and business outcomes • Manage departmental budgets, financial plans, resource allocation, vendors, contractors, software licensing, and technology investments • Support business cases, effort estimation, resource planning, prioritization, and budgeting • Evolve the Engineering organization’s structure, skills, roles, leadership capacity, and operating model • Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, recruitment, and performance management • Incorporate security, compliance, resiliency, risk management, and AI governance into engineering operations and software development

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology operations, or software delivery leadership • 5+ years leading engineering managers, technical leads, or multidisciplinary software development teams • Experience leading and scaling a multidisciplinary engineering organization of comparable size and complexity • Experience developing technical leaders, establishing management structures, and evolving processes as the organization grows • Experience leading an engineering organization through adoption of AI-enabled software development practices • Ability to measure and communicate the impact of AI-enabled engineering practices • Strong working knowledge and practical experience with contemporary AI-assisted software engineering tools and techniques • Experience leading or overseeing QA / Quality Engineering functions, including test automation, regression testing, release quality, and lifecycle quality practices • Experience managing significant departmental budgets, financial planning, resource allocation, vendor relationships, contractor utilization, and technology investments • Experience in a private-equity-backed or similarly metrics-driven environment, including executive and Board-level reporting • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience • Strong understanding of SaaS application development, cloud platforms, software architecture, APIs, and modern software delivery practices • Experience modernizing and evolving established SaaS platforms, including technical debt, scalability, maintainability, and modernization • Experience with iterative planning, capacity management, CI/CD, release management, engineering metrics, and Agile or Lean methodologies • Ability to balance technical priorities with business objectives, budget considerations, and customer requirements • Ability to build and lead high-performing engineering organizations, including developing managers and technical leaders, coaching, performance management, succession planning, talent development, and attracting and retaining technical talent • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills • Experience leading distributed or remote technical teams • GovTech, municipal technology, enterprise SaaS, asset management, ERP, or public sector software experience is considered an asset
