📋 Description

• Analyze aggregate health and welfare plan data and inform recommendations on trends and plan design changes • Serve as the central point of contact for insurance-related associate escalations • Act as subject matter expert on HIPAA, ACA reporting, Form 5500s, IRS compliance, and benefit issues • Coordinate with internal customers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to research and resolve coverage, leave, and payroll deduction issues • Review documents and benefit changes for IRS compliance • Investigate and resolve moderate to complex complaints and concerns regarding benefits and leaves of absence • Communicate IRS, FMLA, HSA, and healthcare reform requirements to managers, associates, and candidates • Manage communication and resolution between associates and benefit plan vendors • Administer leave of absence compliance and transitions to accommodations or long-term disability • Investigate, audit, and resolve vacation and sick accrual discrepancies • Process HRMS transactions for entitlements, enrollment changes, leaves, payroll deductions, and audits • Participate in RFPs and assist with benefit plan implementations • Manage compliance issues, audits, and payments to applicable state programs • Manage open enrollment for associates on leave and audit enrollment files and carrier exception reports • Review and edit RJNet content and coordinate communications for Health and Wellness initiatives • Review family status change documents for IRS compliance • Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to internal customers • Manage and increase utilization of the onsite health clinic • Coordinate new-hire benefit enrollment • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• College degree equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience • Five years’ experience in health and welfare group insurance and leave of absence strongly preferred • Advanced knowledge of benefit-related laws including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and IRS requirements • Knowledge of federal and state legislation, including Family Medical Leave, state-specific paid leaves, San Francisco City Option, San Francisco Commuter, and Health Care Reform • Advanced HRMS system processing and report analysis • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; intermediate Excel skills preferred • Report writing skills, including PeopleSoft Query, PeopleTools, and SQL strongly preferred • HIPAA certification/compliance training completed • Knowledge of insurance plan administration and health and wellness plan designs • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations to complex benefit and leave issues • Ability to analyze healthcare/vendor data, investigate discrepancies, and process billings • Ability to organize and manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced environment • Effective oral and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality • CEBS, CBP, PHR, or SHRM certification/continued education in insurance area a plus • Call center experience requiring problem resolution a plus
