📋 Description

• Prepare structural calculations and construction documents that meet quality standards • Design lateral and gravity systems in areas of technical proficiency • Sketch and draw unique details • Provide modeling and drafting direction • Quality-control own work • Provide high-level options to the technical lead for areas requiring direction • Develop and execute sprint plan activities • Create and communicate the plan of approach to the project manager • Document deliverable tasks and estimate hours • Identify high-value, low-risk items to keep projects moving • Communicate roadblocks and reconcile plans with the project team • Manage construction administration activities and report to the technical lead • Maintain and update the construction administration log • Create responses to RFIs for technical lead approval • Review shop drawings and present them to the technical lead • Elevate scope-creep concerns • Perform site visits • Manage client coordination through meetings, phone calls, and email • Coordinate drawing development with technical staff • Identify consultant issues and offer solutions • Advise on structural type and system selection • Communicate updates to the project team • Participate in continuous improvement activities • Pursue continuing education • Participate in material groups and improve standards and best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field required • Professional Engineering (PE) license required • 5+ years of experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood frame structures • Growing proficiency in material, market, and project types • Ability to prepare structural calculations and construction documents meeting quality standards • Ability to design lateral and gravity systems • Ability to provide modeling and drafting direction • Ability to develop and execute sprint plan activities • Ability to manage construction administration activities • Ability to perform site visits • Ability to independently communicate and manage client coordination • MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred • Willingness to travel 10–15%
