📋 Description

• Define what to build and how to build it, shaping product direction from the engineering side • Build and ship voice agent experiences from zero to one • Iterate quickly based on real interactions • Own technical direction for context sharing, concurrent interaction arbitration, scalability, and investigation of real-time decisions • Make and document architectural tradeoffs as requirements evolve • Serve as the team's technical anchor by reviewing designs, unblocking decisions, and mentoring engineers • Introduce new patterns for full-stack and AI-assisted engineering and drive adoption • Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles as the company scales globally

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of products from concept through production • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience • Recent, primary experience shipping LLM/agent based products end-to-end, including evaluation of AI behavior in production • Experience with memory, context, or retrieval systems for AI applications, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, or long-lived session context • Strong programming and design fundamentals in Go, TypeScript, and Python • Experience designing APIs and service boundaries that other systems rely on • Experience setting technical direction on a team and mentoring other engineers • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction without formal authority • Located in and authorized to work in the United States or Canada • Experience building zero-to-one products in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments • Experience building persistent memory or personalization systems where agents learn about users over time • Experience with multi-agent orchestration • Experience building scheduling or arbitration systems • Experience designing systems that combine structured and open-ended signal collection to inform product decisions
