📋 Description

• Support recruitment and selection for technical positions across the organization • Screen candidates, conduct interviews and technical testing, and make hiring recommendations • Develop and administer practical and theoretical assessments covering trade knowledge, troubleshooting, safety mindset, and problem-solving • Partner with Operations Managers, HR, Training, and technical subject matter experts to identify workforce requirements • Track competence progression and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates • Conduct behavioural and technical interviews • Validate candidate certifications and experience • Provide objective recommendations based on candidate suitability and future development potential • Build relationships with industry partners, community organizations, and external stakeholders to attract skilled talent • Pursue sourcing opportunities through job fairs, mine closures, workforce transitions, and industry/community events • Develop a feedback loop to evaluate hiring selection effectiveness • Act as a connector between Operations, HR, Training, and technical stakeholders throughout recruitment and selection

🎯 Requirements

• Possesses a Red Seal trade certification • Significant field or workshop experience within a heavy equipment, mining, industrial, or related technical environment • Proven leadership or managerial experience • Bilingual in both French and English • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Sound judgment and ability to evaluate technical capability and interpersonal effectiveness • Ability to identify and attract technicians capable of supporting operational excellence and long-term business growth • Ability to build and maintain internal networks across Operations, HR, Training, technical subject matter experts, and employees • Ability to identify internal talent, referrals, transferable skills, and development opportunities • Ability to understand operational requirements, team dynamics, technical competencies, and success characteristics in skilled-trades roles • Ability to develop and maintain external industry networks, including skilled-trades professionals, educational institutions, apprenticeship programs, and other talent sources
