📋 Description

• Write public communications including FAQs, fact sheets, emails, web updates, social posts, and print materials on technical and sensitive topics • Research complex subjects and coordinate with engineers, leadership, and experts to verify accuracy • Draft honest, empathetic responses to resident questions and concerns • Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns across social, email, web, and print • Prepare messaging and materials for community meetings and stakeholder outreach • Maintain a consistent, trustworthy voice across channels • Track open rates, attendance, questions received, sentiment, and other results; report on outcomes • Handle sensitive and not-yet-public information discreetly

🎯 Requirements

• Background in journalism, communications, PR, or a related field (Mass Comm, DevComm, English, Humanities, etc.) • Excellent, natural English writing skills • Ability to simplify technical topics accurately • Research-first approach and willingness to ask questions instead of guessing • Ability to distinguish known, projected, undecided, and promiseable information • Ability to communicate honestly and respectfully with frustrated or skeptical people • Ability to work independently while coordinating with leadership • Experience running multi-channel campaigns and measuring results • Resume required • 2–3 writing samples, ideally including one on a technical or sensitive topic • 150–250-word written response to the specified resident scenario • Application subject line must be “Clear and Honest” • Not a short-term gig • Bonus: experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, government, NGO, or crisis communications • Bonus: experience with US or international clients • Bonus: portfolio of published work
