📋 Description

• Add security tooling and checks to CI/CD pipelines • Build and improve security tooling with scripts and automation, primarily in Python • Use AI to support day-to-day security work • Conduct offensive testing to find product vulnerabilities and build proofs of concept • Triage security findings and patch straightforward issues, such as SCA version bumps • Collaborate with product engineers, DevOps, and Fraud • Gain hands-on application security and DevSecOps experience across the software lifecycle • Report to the Staff Software Engineer – Security • Take ownership of meaningful security projects that ship during the internship • Work with K8s-based microservices, Python FastAPI backends, TypeScript React front ends, AWS infrastructure, and related data and observability technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • Genuine interest in application and infrastructure security • Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerability classes • Some hands-on experience finding vulnerabilities through CTFs, labs, or coursework • Familiarity with web technologies and networking fundamentals, including HTTP, REST APIs, TLS, and DNS • Solid programming fundamentals; Python preferred • Strong willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication and ability to work across engineering, DevOps, and other teams • Relevant security certifications are a bonus, such as Security+, eJPT, or PJPT • Previous security or software engineering internship experience is a bonus • Bug bounty, CTF competition, or similar success is a bonus • Interest in using AI/LLMs for security or engineering work is a bonus • Exposure to AWS or Kubernetes/cloud security is a bonus • Exposure to mobile development or mobile security is a bonus • Independent projects visible on GitHub are a bonus • Candidates must be based in Canada • Minimum 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone • Availability to work a 40-hour work week • Availability during core working hours of 9/10 am–5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, barring pre-approved time off
