• Commission, program, diagnose, and service HVAC controls for air conditioning and/or chiller systems in buildings • Utilize advanced analytics and artificial intelligence systems to optimize buildings • Service assigned equipment and projects and ensure customer satisfaction • Use hand tools and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to diagnose and perform repairs • Analyze, diagnose, and repair customer systems and equipment • Perform preventive maintenance, site reconnaissance, replacements, and modifications • Review equipment layouts, anticipate difficulties, gather materials, and coordinate work before on-site repairs • Serve as the direct company contact for customers • Provide customer training and technical support • Provide sales leads to account managers • Identify parts to order and timing for orders • Document materials, parts, work, costs, and unused resources • Provide documents and reports within prescribed deadlines • Maintain current knowledge of Trane products through ongoing training • Supervise apprentice technicians when required • Install, configure, and commission Trane HVAC controls • Use digital tools, wireless sensors, mobile apps, and connected service platforms for diagnostics and system checks • Support remote diagnostic teams by capturing data, performing on-site tests, and implementing recommended actions • Digitally document service activities through Trane’s service systems • Educate customers on system operation, digital features, and connected capabilities • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, and Trane service procedures
• Technical diploma in the field of building mechanics or industrial automation, or a minimum of five years of experience in HVAC or a similar position, or an equivalent combination of work and education • Strong communication skills • Mathematical aptitude • Reasoning ability • Driver's license • Expertise with advanced digital tools and connected technologies • Ability to install, configure, and commission Trane HVAC controls • Ability to use digital tools, wireless sensors, mobile apps, and connected service platforms • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and controls issues • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and product and building designs • Ability to work outdoors, in mechanical rooms, and in extreme conditions and temperatures • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 40 pounds • Availability for overtime and/or weekend work as needed • Ability to occasionally travel with overnight stays • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, elevated locations, wet conditions, airborne vapors and particles, vibrations, electrical shock risks, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals
