📋 Description

• Direct the Defense Response Optimization (DROP) function, a horizontal cybersecurity team within the Security Defense organization • Lead cross-platform capability optimization and advanced incident response • Translate technology features into repeatable investigation and response outcomes • Partner across Truist Protection Services to strengthen platform-native response and improve response processes • Transfer executable procedures into existing operational functions • Direct short- to mid-term operational plans for the cybersecurity engineering job area • Manage the design, development, and deployment of cybersecurity solutions and frameworks • Coordinate threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing activities • Oversee integration and incremental improvement of information security technologies • Advise senior managers and stakeholders on security issues and risk trade-offs • Partner with internal teams and designated external vendors or service providers • Uphold security policies, standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements • Direct crisis management, incident response, and forensic activities • Ensure managers follow playbooks, escalate appropriately, and capture lessons learned • Develop and coach lower-level managers and senior engineers • Contribute to technology, risk management, and compliance decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles • Deep expertise in cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing • Experience with information security technologies, configuration management, and operational handoff • Advanced management and leadership knowledge to manage multiple teams and drive tactical and operational security initiatives • Advanced certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH) preferred • Experience with security automation and orchestration tools preferred • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) preferred • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends preferred • Prior experience in a technical security engineering role within enterprise environments preferred • English language fluency required • Must comply with applicable work authorization requirements in the United States
