📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of systems/DevOps engineers, including hiring as the team scales • Set priorities, career development plans, and performance expectations for direct reports • Own strategy and execution for migrating 25+ Proxmox VE private-cloud servers to AWS • Direct infrastructure administration, optimization, lifecycle management, provisioning, patching, capacity planning, and decommissioning • Define target-state cloud architecture balancing scalability, performance, security, and cost • Champion infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes • Plan and provision infrastructure for AI/ML capabilities, including GPU-backed compute, vector databases, and model-serving endpoints • Evaluate AI-assisted operations tooling • Own network infrastructure strategy across firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP • Ensure security controls meet company and customer requirements • Partner with Governance, Risk & Compliance on audits, security reviews, and incident response • Oversee Tier 1–3 internal IT support, onboarding/offboarding, endpoint management, and M365/Azure administration • Oversee Active Directory, Windows Server, and related core infrastructure • Own SLA performance and service quality for customer Cloud Hosting & IT Managed Services across Canada and the United States • Oversee multi-tenant customer environments and escalation handling across time zones • Improve RMM, PSA/ticketing, observability, monitoring, alerting, logging, and capacity/performance metrics • Define and track SRE practices and reliability targets, including SLIs/SLOs, availability, performance, and error budgets • Lead incident management, on-call/escalation processes, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements • Own infrastructure budget, cloud/hosting spend, licensing, and vendor contracts • Negotiate vendor relationships and identify cost-saving opportunities • Report infrastructure costs, reliability metrics, and project status to the Director, Software Engineering & AI and senior leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent work experience • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure/systems engineering roles • 2+ years in a formal people-management or team-lead capacity • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and migrating cloud/virtualization platforms • Direct experience migrating on-premises or private-cloud infrastructure to AWS strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, networking fundamentals, and enterprise backup/disaster recovery practices • Experience managing IT Managed Services or MSP-style service delivery, including SLA ownership • Hands-on experience applying SRE/DevOps practices to production operations, including observability, incident response, and reliability targets (SLIs/SLOs) • Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and retain a technical team • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally • Preferred: AWS migration projects, MSP or multi-tenant hosting, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, AI/ML infrastructure, AWS AI/ML services, AI-assisted development/operations tools, budgets, vendor contracts, portfolio/multi-company environments, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and Linux • Certifications are a plus, not required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), CompTIA Server+, Linux+, or Security+
