📋 Description

• Oversee financial reporting and accounting activities for various portfolio companies • Prepare annual and quarterly financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators • Develop forecasts and ad hoc analysis to support strategic business decision-making • Collaborate with internal teams to align with company financial goals • Assist with the annual budget process at various portfolio companies • Review and approve variable pay calculations • Prepare annual corporate tax filings for required entities • Ensure compliance with statutory remittances and filings, including GST/HST and EHT • Facilitate audits as required • Ensure compliance with required accounting standards • Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements • Report directly to the Director of Finance

🎯 Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA designation and proven IFRS experience • 4+ years’ industry experience in an Assistant Controller or Controller role • Strong Excel skills • Proven ability to work independently and productively within a remote work structure • Ability to communicate clearly and articulately with colleagues and senior management • Passion for learning and commitment to personal and professional growth • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, with ability to synthesize and communicate information • Ability to learn quickly, retain information and apply it to work • Experience with Xero, Stripe, Shopify, PayPal, G Suite, and other online/cloud tools considered an asset • Experience implementing and applying IFRS 15 considered an asset • Auditing experience considered an asset • Experience in the SaaS or technology industry considered an asset
