📋 Description

• Develop a data and cloud migration framework for migrating on-premise software assets to Snowflake and Azure Cloud • Assist with migration of on-premise software assets to cloud platforms • Maintain and improve software solutions and infrastructure • Develop software and data engineering best practices and standards for deployment and management on data and cloud platforms • Develop new solutions and enhance existing solutions • Provide status tracking, reporting, and estimation using project methods and tools • Design, develop, and test assigned projects • Participate in Agile ceremonies and work-planning processes • Research technology trends and continuously upgrade technical and IT skills • Investigate new technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate • Gather requirements, validate understanding, and maintain documentation • Execute activities within the current methodology and uphold quality standards • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on solutions • Own projects from technical design through successful launch • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency

🎯 Requirements

• Sound knowledge of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques • At least 7+ years of experience in Python and SQL • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and stored procedures • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker • Experience with Azure and AKS • Experience with Git and Jenkins • Experience migrating data and data engineering assets to cloud platforms • Experience engineering medium-to-large scope and complexity software systems • Proficiency with relational databases • Experience building frontend/backend applications at scale • Experience working in an Agile environment • Experience with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Scrum • Experience in the financial industry required • Effective communication with systems professionals and Capital Markets business users • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Proficiency in the English language • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or CFA candidacy is an asset • C# experience is nice to have • React, Flask, FastAPI, or Django experience is nice to have • Experience with Airflow/Astronomer, DBT, SSIS, and PowerBI is nice to have • Experience migrating web applications to cloud platforms is a nice to have • Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or S&P Xpressfeed is an asset • Understanding of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science is desired
