• Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts • Build strong customer relationships and address customer needs • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations • Handle objections and secure calls to action during sales calls • Serve customer needs and achieve win-win agreements with customers • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with assigned healthcare providers • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations • Center efforts on patients to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
• Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience • At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry preferred • High school diploma/GED required when qualifying through the experience alternative • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities • Ability to adapt selling approaches to customer styles and behaviors • Ability to develop sales strategies and innovative solutions • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment • Leadership and peer coaching experience • Documented success in leadership and support roles of increasing responsibility • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing • English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials • Valid driver's license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
