âą Assist in the collection, review and management of political violence and protest data across Ukraine. âą Collection of data by reviewing news, international organization, NGO and security reports. âą Recording the incidents of political violence into an Excel template. âą Focus on coding events to provide holistic coverage of current political violence, ranging from protests to battles. âą Ensure the quality, consistency and reliability of the data produced. âą Provide team members with experience conducting detail-oriented tasks, and producing and managing quantitative data. âą Candidates selected will undergo extensive ACLED training consisting of several exercises.
âą University degree in international relations, political science, conflict studies, peacebuilding, international development, or related field. âą Familiarity with Excel (essential). âą Fluency in English (essential). âą Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian (essential). âą Experience conducting desk-based research. âą Experience working with data. âą Experience working to deadlines with limited supervision. âą A high level of attention to detail and ability to receive and incorporate feedback. âą Research focus or professional experience in conflict research or peace-building in Eastern Europe generally, or country-specific studies focused on Ukraine is a strong advantage. âą Familiarity with conflict and actors in the relevant countries. âą Access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, email, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
