📋 Description

• Build scalable foundational systems and data pipelines to power financial reporting • Partner closely with Product and Accounting teams to design robust reporting and reconciliation systems • Deliver accurate and timely data from Affirm’s financial products for Accounting, Treasury, and Strategic Finance consumption • Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity • Collaborate with product management, design & analytics during ideation and decision-making • Identify and lead solutions for project, process, technology or business issues • Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics and participating in on-call • Foster a culture of quality and ownership via code review and design standards and knowledge sharing • Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance • Build and integrate data pipelines from various products and systems • Build a foundational platform to reconcile individual transactions across systems, partners, and cash movements • Participate in on-call rotation

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python • Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes • Fluency in back end development, event processing, and batch processing using technologies like Airflow, Spark, Data Lake and Snowflake • Experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design • Ability to write high quality code that is easily understood and used by others • Proficient at making significant changes in a large code base, with tools and practices to do so safely • Strong verbal and written communication skills for global engineering collaboration • Experience that demonstrates ownership of growth and proactive feedback-seeking • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation • Must be based in Spain (visa sponsorship available)
