• Lead CCPS staff and consultants in the expansion of CCPS Body of Knowledge. • Lead CCPS project execution process and oversee CCPS project execution; lead key CCPS projects • Manage project budgets, monitor project progress and address issues as they arrive. • Provide subject matter expertise on all matters relating to CCPS technical content on a global basis. • On behalf of CCPS ED, organize / lead CCPS technical steering committee meetings. • On behalf of CCPS ED, organize / lead CCPS Planning Board, manage CCPS project planning development process; coordinate project proposal creation and balloting. • Provide technical leadership in global and regional conferences, and regional meetings, as appropriate. • Lead the CCPS Business Development activities, with initial focus on strengthening CCPS position in Europe region and acquisition of members from industry segments that are not currently served by CCPS. • Become a Level 1 Process Safety Trainer and lead / support AIChE Process Safety Management training portfolio. Establish new instructor qualifications and approve and evaluate new and existing CCPS instructors worldwide. • Be a senior level participant in the CCPS membership recruitment and deeper engagement member service activities. • Lead / oversee efforts for intellectual property protection including copyright and branding issues related to the CCPS logo and CCPS Products. • Provide technical leadership and supervision to CCPS Staff and consultants reporting to the position. • Provide technical leadership on updating and maintenance of CCPS Technical Tools. • Solicits grants from appropriate sources; organizes grant projects and tracks required grantor documentation. • Along with CCPS Executive Director, represent CCPS and AIChE globally with government organizations, other associations, and the press as part of CCPS’ Responsible Collaboration outreach. • Oversee a large body of CCPS staff consultants and technical staff personnel supporting / managing CCPS project activities, will oversee Lead Subject Matter Experts and Technical Lead, including Engineering Specialists / project managers, as well as facilitate roles that are focused on developing technical content. The role will also provide mentoring and guidance to other CCPS staff.
• BS / MS / PHD in chemical engineering or related discipline required. MBA or equivalent experience desirable. • Relevant industrial or consulting experience of 25 years or more, including demonstrated expertise in the technical, management, and regulatory aspects of process safety. • Strong project execution and program management experience • International work experience desirable • Recognized expert in process safety, loss prevention or related field. • CCPS Certified (CCPSC) Process Safety Professional, Professional Engineering (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other appropriate certification. • Knowledge and experience with contracts, licensing agreements and intellectual property protection. • Negotiating skills (business arrangements; project contracts; licensing, etc.) • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. • Experience in building and sustaining customer relationships on a global basis. • Good understanding of AIChE and CCPS, as well as the workings of their volunteer structures, or prior experience working within a similar environment. • Strong oral and written communication. Cultural sensitivity required. • Advanced knowledge and proficiency of computer tools, including experience with MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and web productivity tools.
