• Responsible for the organization, direction, supervision, and administration of Maintenance activities and personnel, assigned within an operational area. • Coordinates with regional, aviation and clinical directors to ensure a coordinated operation to fulfill objectives in the region. • Direct AMT 135 Lead Mechanics in all areas of maintainer standards and training, procedures and policies to maintain airworthiness of aircraft, adherence to aircraft maintenance requirements and the movement of aircraft within the area in support of new base openings. • Participates as a member of the Air Methods’ management team to promote a successful operation • As an agent of the 135 certificate, oversees all maintenance of aircraft within their region following the Company’s maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins and letters and bulletins, and in compliance applicable Federal Aviation Regulations/ Aeronautical Information Manual (FAR) General Operations Manual (GOM) and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) • Responsible for correcting compliance or safety issues in coordination with the Sr Director of Maintenance • Ensures all necessary aircraft documents, and Air Methods’ documents are maintained or updated in accordance with applicable government relations and Company policies • Responsible to support maintenance activities including troubleshooting and coordination of all phases of maintenance, as requested from Regional Maintenance Managers • Communicates area maintenance with appropriate Regional Directors • Serves as Regional Vice President’s Maintenance advisor and maintenance liaison with HBS Customers • Assists the Regional Business Development Director in the integration of aircraft and spare aircraft assuring availability in support of operational requirements • Delegates maintenance logistical support to Area Managers • Reviews Mechanical Interruption Summary (MIS) reports and distributes to Director of Maintenance • Ensures the Director of Maintenance is notified in the event of encounters with the FAA such as ramp checks, operational area visits or SDR requirements • Conducts safety and maintenance audit at each operational area as required by the Director of Maintenance • Coordinates with Regional Safety Director on safety related issues • Responsible for coordinating the submittal of an Accident, Incident, Damage, Malfunction, Operations Report (AIDMOR) and contacting the Corporate Safety Department to open the appropriate work order in the event of an incident or accident • Monitors and responds to AIDMOR submissions • Researches and report on monthly FRx variances • Ensures that the 411 system is current and correct • Ability to work a flexible schedule, available 24/7 for operational requirements • Other Duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year college or university and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent experience within aviation maintenance and air medical transport services • Five (5) years field experience and prefer applicable to assigned aircraft • Three (3) years civilian aviation supervisory experience with national services organization • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent written and verbal communication • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondences, and presentations to senior leadership as required • Proven leadership skills • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally • Intermediate Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook • Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
