Alpen Labs is a blockchain infrastructure company building Bitcoin-native financial primitives and developer tooling. It provides an EVM-compatible environment and novel security primitives—such as a 1-of-N Bitcoin bridge, optimistic ZK-verifiers, and a ZK rollup architecture—to enable secure, non-custodial, programmable Bitcoin finance. Alpen Labs focuses on enabling developers to deploy BTC-denominated lending, payments, and other financial apps that settle directly on Bitcoin while preserving decentralization and Bitcoin security.

📋 Description

• Serve as the quality gate between engineering and production, ensuring releases meet user-facing quality standards • Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks for backend services, APIs, and blockchain infrastructure • Design test strategies based on product requirements, user journeys, and real-world usage scenarios • Build and maintain automated regression test suites • Validate software upgrades and version migrations • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve execution speed, reliability, and coverage • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation and streamline QA workflows • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define acceptance criteria and identify quality risks • Execute exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, usability issues, and unexpected behavior • Evaluate defects, assess release risk, and determine whether issues should block production releases • Troubleshoot failures, reproduce bugs, and provide detailed reports • Review code and improve testability, maintainability, and reliability • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, testing standards, and release checklists • Champion a quality-first engineering culture and improve QA processes and tooling

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar software quality engineering role • Experience building and scaling QA automation for large-scale production systems, leveraging AI • Experience testing production software in Web3, blockchain, fintech, or high-reliability distributed systems • Hands-on experience with backend, API, integration, and end-to-end testing • Strong proficiency with Python for automation and API testing • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native environments • Ability to read and understand Rust code • Familiarity with EVM-based systems • Familiarity with Bitcoin infrastructure, bridges, or zero-knowledge systems is a strong plus • Strong understanding of regression testing, release management, and risk-based testing methodologies • Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar is strongly preferred • Ability to balance technical rigor with practical product quality • Curiosity and analytical approach to complex distributed systems • Highly detail-oriented and methodical defect investigation • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment • Interest in new technologies and AI-powered workflows
