• Conduct daily inspections of personnel, equipment, tools, and work areas • Perform new worker safety orientations and ongoing safety meetings • Lead and document incident, mishap, and near-miss investigations • Maintain required safety documentation and reference materials onsite • Attend and participate in pre-construction conferences, preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, and Three-Phase Quality Control meetings • Implement, monitor, and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) • Verify compliance with safety requirements by employees, subcontractors, and visitors • Stop work and initiate corrective actions when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) • Maintain daily safety records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation • Coordinate with project management and other stakeholders regarding safety-related matters • Promote a positive safety culture through visible onsite leadership and employee engagement
• High school diploma or an equivalent • Minimum of ten (10) years of documented construction safety experience • At least five (5) years serving as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) • Thorough knowledge of current EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and applicable construction safety regulations • Successful completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course • Completion of additional 40 hours of documented construction safety training • Documented completion of 8 hours of formal safety-related continuing education annually for the previous five years • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills
