📋 Description

• Design PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, and queries for high-write scheduling and forecasting workloads • Own database performance troubleshooting, including query plans, indexing strategy, and migrations at scale • Build, operate, and harden AWS infrastructure using Lambda, RDS, App Runner, Bedrock, and Terraform • Write, test, and ship code using AI agents such as Claude, Bedrock, and MCP-based tooling • Design, build, and scale backend services in Python/FastAPI • Own REST/OpenAPI contracts and generated clients for Next.js web and React Native mobile applications • Extend AI-assisted features using AWS Bedrock, Claude, and MCP integrations • Collaborate with data/ML teams on forecasting pipelines using Prophet, Pandas, and NumPy • Maintain pytest test suites and strengthen CI/CD gates in GitHub Actions • Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and mentoring • Partner with product, mobile, and data teams to ship end-to-end features from rough specifications

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience • Production Python experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django • Deep hands-on PostgreSQL expertise in schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations • Production AWS infrastructure experience with Lambda, RDS, and/or App Runner or close equivalents • Comfort with IAM, networking, cost trade-offs, and ideally Terraform • Experience designing, versioning, and documenting REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger • Experience with containerized local development using Docker/Docker Compose • Ability to work independently in ambiguous startup environments • Strong testing, code review, and pragmatic architecture skills • Excellent written communication and asynchronous work ability • Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing • Nice-to-have: ML/data tooling, LLM or agentic integrations, Next.js/React/TypeScript, workforce management or scheduling, early-stage startup experience, mentoring, or technical design leadership
