📋 Description

• Build retrospective patient cohorts from longitudinal EHR data • Engineer time-windowed features from medical records while avoiding temporal leakage • Develop and internally validate statistical and machine learning models predicting GLP-1 discontinuation and post-discontinuation weight regain • Apply clinical-prediction statistics, including discrimination, calibration, and subgroup performance • Translate model outputs into interpretable risk tiers with clinical advisors • Identify promising modelling approaches within a constrained research timeline • Document datasets, modelling decisions, and validation results for reproducibility and future production deployment • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate validated models into production systems • Work with de-identified EHR data in a U.S. partner’s secure data environment and with an obesity-medicine advisor

🎯 Requirements

• Background in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, health data science, machine learning, or a related quantitative discipline • Around 3-6+ years developing clinical or tabular predictive models • Strong applied statistics • Fluency in tabular machine learning, including gradient boosting and regularized regression • Knowledge of clinical-prediction methodology, especially calibration and validation • Experience engineering features from EHR or other longitudinal records • Strong awareness of data leakage • Fluency in Python and the scientific Python ecosystem, including Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and related libraries • Comfort working in restricted clinical data environments • Knowledge of health-data privacy, including HIPAA and GDPR • Ability to balance scientific rigor with pragmatic decision-making in a fast-paced research setting • Survival or time-to-event modelling is a plus • Prior work with EHR or claims data, including ICD and RxNorm, ideally in obesity or metabolic disease, is a plus • Experience developing models intended for production deployment is a plus
