• Prepare accurate federal, state, and local U.S. tax returns • Prepare individual income tax returns, including Form 1040 and related schedules • Prepare business tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S • Assist with fiduciary, estate, gift, nonprofit, payroll, or sales tax filings as required • Enter and validate tax data using professional tax preparation software • Review prior-year returns and identify carryforwards, elections, credits, and reporting requirements • Calculate taxable income, deductions, credits, estimated tax payments, and liabilities • Prepare extensions, estimated tax calculations, amended returns, and corrective filings • Complete multistate returns and related schedules • Organize tax documents, financial statements, trial balances, and supporting schedules • Prepare review-ready tax workpapers and book-to-tax reconciliations • Reconcile tax information to accounting records, payroll reports, bank statements, and prior-year returns • Track missing client information and maintain organized electronic tax files • Conduct federal and state tax research and summarize findings • Monitor tax-law changes, filing requirements, forms, and compliance procedures • Assist with tax notices, correspondence, penalty inquiries, and document requests • Maintain filing calendars and monitor deadlines • Assist with electronic filing and resolve rejected filing issues • Support tax projections, quarterly estimates, planning schedules, and advisory projects • Communicate with U.S. clients, tax professionals, and internal teams • Provide updates on return status, outstanding requirements, review notes, and deadlines • Coordinate with bookkeepers and accountants to resolve discrepancies • Manage assigned returns and projects according to priorities and turnaround times • Protect confidential taxpayer information and escalate complex tax positions
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field • Previous experience in U.S. tax preparation, tax compliance, public accounting, or a related role • Practical experience preparing U.S. federal and state tax returns • Experience working with individual returns is required or strongly preferred, depending on the client assignment • Familiarity with U.S. tax forms, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S • Understanding of basic U.S. federal income tax principles and common state filing requirements • Knowledge of tax workpaper preparation, book-to-tax adjustments, and tax return reconciliation • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, filters, and data organization • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to interpret tax documents and identify missing or inconsistent information • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet strict filing deadlines • Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax periods, subject to employment terms and client requirements • Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the assigned client and internal team • Willingness and ability to work hours aligned with the assigned U.S. client • Reliable internet connection and a professional remote-work environment
