• Lead and build Audubon’s Community Building program in LAC • Lead the development of Audubon’s engagement efforts to increase support for birds and bird habitat conservation • Collaborate with LAC program staff supporting Protected Areas, Regenerative Agriculture, and Coastal Resilience Initiatives • Work with colleagues and partners to include equity, diversity, and inclusion considerations in plans for all programs • In partnership with LAC leadership, support a culture of philanthropy and secure funds • Develop partnerships and relationships with funders, donors, and strategic partners to support and grow Audubon's capacity for a diverse set of programs • Develop and manage program and grant budgets • Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas including through joint planning and execution of shared priorities • Maintain and foster culture of safety.
• Bachelor's degree required • 10+ years' relevant experience in Latin America in community building, wildlife conservation, public service, or related field • At least three years managing staff and teams, required • A combination of education and experience will also be considered • Exceptional leadership skills in a multi-national and multi-cultural context • Superb written and verbal communication and presentation skills required • Commitment to Audubon’s organizational values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation • Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to and experience in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging • In-depth experience with community organizing and engagement in diverse communities • Clear track record of success in operational roles • Proven experience in networking, engaging, and successfully cultivating diverse community partners and partnership projects • Demonstrated experience overseeing complex or multiple projects through to success • Outstanding interpersonal skills, judgment, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate and build coalitions • Willingness to travel internationally and comfort working evenings and weekends as job responsibilities demand • Demonstrated interest in conservation and commitment to the mission of the National Audubon Society. • Written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish is required.
