📋 Description

• Lead, execute, and manage the monthly and quarterly financial close cycle • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, vendor, and complex general ledger accounts • Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, capitalization policies, asset recording, and depreciation process • Prepare and book journal entries related to inventory and COGS • Manage the Accounts Payable workflow and review vendor invoices and expense reports • Review and book daily sales and revenue journal entries from the POS system • Support weekly, monthly, and periodic internal financial statements and management reports • Analyze and provide commentary on variances and operational drivers • Own non-income tax compliance, including sales and meals taxes, personal property tax, and statutory filings • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control guidelines • Assist the Controller and CFO with accounting and finance tasks and reports • Perform miscellaneous and ad hoc finance duties • Report to the client's designated manager and be supervised by Big Ideas Social Media Inc.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • CPA preferred; CPA certification listed as preferred • Minimum 5 years of proven and progressive accounting experience • At least 2 years in a management or senior-level role overseeing core accounting operations • Expertise managing the end-to-end month-end close process • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP • Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulas • Experience in restaurant or food industry, including inventory, COGS, and POS systems preferred • Familiarity with sales tax compliance software such as Avalara or Vertex preferred • Prior experience working with a US client or company preferred • Prior fully remote work experience preferred • Eligible to work as a remote freelancer or contractor based in the Philippines • Own computer or laptop capable of handling big data and financial work • Fast and reliable home internet connection of at least 100MBPS • Quiet and distraction-free home work environment • Willingness to work graveyard shifts or changing shift schedules • Availability for 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, USA, Monday through Friday • Self-employed classification for legal and tax purposes
