📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and document new EDB Postgres Distributed (PGD) capabilities • Maintain and improve the performance and usability of existing PGD capabilities • Analyze business requirements and translate them into executable tasks • Provide world-class production support to EDB’s PGD customers • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with a globally distributed team • Work directly on PGD architecture design, development, testing, and documentation of new and existing capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering position • Strong proficiency in C programming • Experience with PostgreSQL internals, including storage engine, WAL, replication, catalog system, or extension development • Understanding of distributed systems concepts, including replication topologies, consensus, conflict resolution, eventual consistency, and failure modes • Experience working on multi-version/multi-branch codebases with active backporting workflows • Familiarity with build systems and CI/CD practices • Comfort working with Git on a large, long-lived codebase with complex branching • Strong debugging and performance analysis skills • Prior contributions to PostgreSQL or other open-source database projects are advantageous • Experience with logical replication, logical decoding, or custom replication solutions is advantageous • Knowledge of distributed consensus algorithms such as Raft is advantageous • Familiarity with the PostgreSQL extension API and hook system is advantageous • Experience with high availability architectures and failover mechanisms is advantageous • Experience with Python and Rust is advantageous • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous • Experience with Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes is advantageous
