📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain core pay-in and pay-out infrastructure processing financial transactions worldwide • Design Kafka-based event-driven pipelines and workflows ensuring correctness, ordering, and resilience at scale • Lead architecture discussions, define and apply patterns, and set standards for the pay-in and pay-out domain • Write clean, well-tested, high-performance Java code and champion engineering best practices through code reviews • Use Cursor, Claude, and CodeRabbit in everyday development; contribute to skills and guardrails development and apply Spec-Driven Development practices • Monitor, debug, and resolve production incidents with a focus on root-cause analysis and lasting fixes • Partner with Product, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions • Share knowledge, contribute to internal tech talks, and foster continuous improvement • Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces to improve observability and deployment confidence • Report to the Nexus Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced in Java backend development, with a proven track record of shipping production systems at scale • Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns, including event sourcing, CQRS, and sagas • Hands-on experience operating Apache Kafka in high-throughput, real-money environments • Experience designing and implementing distributed, fault-tolerant microservices handling financial or similarly critical transactional data • Solid experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization • Comfortable with cloud-native infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or equivalent • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines • Clear written and spoken English communication • High degree of autonomy and ownership • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and CodeRabbit • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes fintech environment • Familiarity with payment rails, reconciliation, or idempotent transaction processing is a strong plus
