📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and event-driven pipelines for bankruptcy workflows and hardship support • Ensure correctness, auditability, and reliability of backend services and pipelines • Take independent, end-to-end ownership of backend services or pipelines from design through production • Collaborate with product, compliance, and platform teams to ship compliant, well-tested features • Help shape foundational systems and engineering standards for a newly formed team • Participate in design and code reviews • Proactively identify compliance or correctness risks • Build core servicing platforms for bankruptcy and hardship programs, including the Payment Snooze feature

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience • Experience ideally in Kotlin, Java, or Python, in that order of preference • Strong familiarity with distributed systems concepts, including queues, asynchronous processing, retries, event-driven architectures, and message queues such as Kafka or SQS • Strong fundamentals in clean, well-tested, readable code • Ability to communicate clearly about trade-offs and risk • Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments such as fintech, lending, debt management, or financial servicing (nice to have) • Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider (nice to have)
