📋 Description

• The Core Messaging team focuses on enhancing the performance and reliability of Braze's most frequently used messaging channels, responsible for several high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems • Work closely with internal and external teams to maintain industry leadership in cost-effective scaling, competitive go-to-market timelines, and overall system uptime • Create innovative features enabling customers to communicate marketing goals around speed, accuracy and reliability and translate them into technical solutions • Play a pivotal role in technical leadership, influencing multiple teams within the division and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders, peers, and teammates to establish technical direction and address persistent quality challenges • Include direct project contributions, guiding technical direction, and mentoring other engineers; effectiveness measured by product health, software quality, clarity/adoption of technical vision, collaboration, mentorship, and strategic project contributions

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional Software Engineering experience with a proven track record • Ability to translate business and product strategy into technology vision and goals • A drive to own and implement high-impact, foundational code at a high velocity, aligning with customer needs • Thrives in collaborative environments, leveraging diverse perspectives and collective expertise for optimal outcomes • Comfortable managing a portfolio of projects with varying complexity, ensuring clear next steps • A strong mentor who consistently shares knowledge to upskill teammates and peers • Requires minimal oversight, effectively managing personal bandwidth through delegation and active prioritization of tasks • Eager to drive change by leading team discussions and presenting data-informed proposals • Proficient with distributed architecture paradigms (e.g., async processing, job queues, eventual consistency), with a focus on optimizing code performance, database load, and caching strategies
